Ford Passenger Van Quigley Motor Company is the only company that has qualified for Ford's Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) program, formerly Modified Vehicle Engineering (MVE) program for 4x4 systems on E-Series vans and Cutaways. This exclusive program gives QMCI the ability to ship units to dealers in all 50 states. It also ensures that you retain your factory warranty on the unaltered portion of your vehicle (i.e. engine, transmission, rear end, etc.)

4x4 Van Engineering Safety

Quigley's process involves hundreds of hours of engineering and development time and reflects the same concern for safety and quality. A classic example of this process in action was our work on the Ford van's fuel tank. We modify the tank to make sure there is enough clearance for the added components, and then we also tested the tank to insure its integrity.

The most important test was the vehicle crash test. This was to insure structural integrity. But before we could do the actual crash test, we had to determine a 'worst case crash scenario' and develop a computer model for the Ford-based Quigley 4-wheel drive systems. We then hired a NHTSA approved engineering firm to carry out the prescribed test and compare the results against the computer model in order to validate the program. Once confirmed, the same computer model was then used to certify the entire model line.

4x4 Van Vehicle Stability

The "Quadra-Version" 4 wheel drive system has been engineered to maintain all safety features. For instance, factory braking systems are retained including four wheel ABS. Quigley has conducted a full array of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety compliance tests on the brake systems covering the entire line of Quigley 4x4 van conversions.

Another example is Quigley's ability to maintain vehicle stability while raising the height of the full size van two to three inches for maximum suspension travel. The Ford solid front axle were used to add front suspension stiffness which increases vehicle stability and limits body roll. Secondly, the positioning of the added weight of Quigley's 4 wheel drive system diminished the effects of the 2-3" van height increase because the vertical center of gravity increased a mere 1 inch - well below industry regulations.

4x4 Van Mechanical Components

Although Quigley uses a combination of purchased components and ones designed and manufactured in house, the Quigley system was designed to retain as many factory components as possible (i.e. factory rotors, calipers and brake pads).

On the component side, Quigley adheres to all applicable Federal Motor Safety Standards (FMVSS) to provide the safest, highest quality products and all parts manufactured to the company's design are in accordance with Society of Automative Engineers (SAE) specifications.

Purchased components of the Quadra-Version include: Ford front drive axles and front & rear drive shafts from Dana Corporation; transfer case assemblies from Borg Warner and New Venture; manual and automatic hub locks from Ford and Warn Industries and springs and tie-rod ends from Dayton.

The company manufactures the remainder of the conversion pieces which include brackets, bushings, strut and torque rods, steering linkage and the transmission-to-transfer case, cast-alloy adapter housing. Quigley staffs a customer service department which is available to provide technical support to both automotive service centers and Quigley vehicle owners as well as overnight replacement parts manufactured by Quigley.

All Quadra-Version components are covered by Quigley's 36 month/36,000 mile warranty. To provide customer satisfaction, this warranty work can be performed at Battlefield Ford or any franchised Ford, dealer.

From the South:   Take NJ Turnpike Exit 15X; pay toll and follow ramp through 2 traffic lights (North and South Road) to 3rd light. Make right onto New County Road. Cross railroad tracks and then bear left at the fork onto County Avenue. Meadowland Ford is 3/4 mile up on the right hand side, at the corner of Secaucus Road.

From the North:   Take NJ Turnpike South to Exit 17; pay toll and bear right. Follow ramp to traffic light; make left onto Paterson Plank Road. At first light, make left onto County Avenue. Meadowland Ford is 1 mile down on left.

From the Northwest:   Take NJ Route 3 East past Giants Stadium and Meadowlands Parkway exits. Exit right onto Service Road for Secaucus/NJ Turnpike. At Exxon Station, make right; follow street to end (light). At traffic light, make left; at next light (300 yards), make right onto County Avenue. Meadowland Ford is 1 mile down on left.

From the Southwest:   Take NJ Route 280 East to the NJ Turnpike North (Eastern spur). Follow directions for From the South above.

From the East:   Take NJ Route 3 past Mill Creek Mall exit; take exit for Secaucus/Local Roads to traffic light. At light, make left onto Paterson Plank Road; follow road to 4th light (County Avenue). At light, make right onto County Avenue. Meadowland Ford is 1 mile down on left.

From Jersey City Area:   Take Tonnelle Avenue to Secaucus Road exit; take Secaucus Road West for 1 mile to corner of County Avenue; Meadowland Ford is on your left.
